Singer Steven Cheung has accused his wife Au Yin Man of causing him to lose a job opportunity in China, sparking a heated exchange between the couple.

According to The Star, China Press reported that in response to Cheung’s public accusation, Au hit back on her social media, saying: “I have responsibilities too, so please give me time to go out and work.”
“You told me I was the reason you couldn’t go back to work in China, but please think about what you had previously done when you went to work there!” she added.
Au further warned that if Cheung kept provoking her, she would go “even crazier.”
Cheung, 40, first rose to fame in 2003 as a member of the boy band Boy’z, which later rebranded as Sun Boy’z. The group enjoyed success and recognition in Hong Kong, but after disbanding in 2008, Cheung’s transition to acting faced limited success and fewer opportunities.
Cheung married Au, 34, in 2019. That same year, Cheung was embroiled in a cheating scandal involving four women, including Hong Kong actress April Leung. The scandal damaged his reputation and contributed to difficulties in securing steady work, which has put financial strain on his family.
In recent years, Cheung has taken on various odd jobs to make ends meet, including cable wiring, construction, distributing fliers and condoms, and making food deliveries.
Last month, Cheung appealed for help on Instagram, writing: “I’m in urgent need of a job opportunity, requiring HK$6,800 (US$867) today. Help me.”
Earlier this month, his family received a lease termination notice from their landlord due to unpaid rent.
