A big decision can be taken by the Ministry of Railways regarding seats in the train soon. Railways is working on the scheme of issuing only 150 tickets in every compartment. Testing is also being done on this project at New Delhi railway station. Only this system can be implemented in the whole country.
According to the report, under the new system, the number of tickets in each bogie will be limited, that is, no additional tickets will be available after 150 tickets. Apart from this, 60 first class and 30 sleeper seats will be available under the waiting list. Railways say that this system is being started to provide better facilities to the passengers and to reduce the crowd at the station. Right now it is in the testing phase.
Why is it working on this?
There is also a survey conducted in February 2025 behind this decision, in which passengers complained of crowd and inconvenience at the station. In view of this problem, the Railways has made this new rule. Special arrangements are being made to implement this system at the station. Additional employees will be deployed to control the crowd at ticket counters and the notice boards and announcements will be resorted to to make the passengers aware, so that the rule can be implemented properly.
Passengers will facilitate
Railway officials have made it clear that this rule will be strictly applicable to all coaches. Passengers have been advised to plan their journey in advance, as the number of tickets will be limited. This arrangement will not only provide better facilities to the passengers, but will also reduce the chaos at the station. Railways believe that traveling will be more secure and comfortable.
