Immigration authorities at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport have denied entry to 131 foreigners who failed to meet Malaysia’s entry requirements.
The group included 96 Bangladeshi men, 30 Pakistani men, and five Indonesian men and women, The Star reported.
The move was part of an operation that screened over 300 foreigners at the international arrival hall and departure gates on July 11.
Their violations cited by the Border Control and Protection Agency included suspicious accommodations, failure to report to the Immigration counter, and insufficient funds, Named reported.
The agency issued a warning, stating that any attempts to enter Malaysia using forged documents or for suspicious reasons would lead to strict action. It also urged travelers to ensure they meet all entry criteria before attempting to enter the country.
Malaysia welcomed 13.3 million foreign tourists in the first four months of this year, marking a 21% year-on-year increase.
