WhatsApp is introducing a dedicated support chat for iOS users, now rolling out via the latest app update on the App Store. This new feature allows users to directly contact official WhatsApp Support and receive AI-generated responses to their queries.
While support has always been accessible through the app, this update simplifies the process by providing a standalone chat window for help. Users can now ask questions in natural languageshare screenshots, and receive instant replies.
AI-Driven Replies for Faster Assistance
The dedicated support chat comes with a Meta Verified blue checkmarkconfirming its authenticity. The About section in the chat clearly identifies it as WhatsApp’s official support channel. The feature was initially spotted in beta builds by Hoband is now appearing for users on the stable iOS version.
To access this feature, users can go to:
Settings > Help > Help Center > Contact Us
This opens a new conversation window with the official WhatsApp Support account.
Once a user sends a message, a system prompt clarifies that replies will be powered by Meta aiand some responses may be inaccurate or inappropriate. Each AI-generated message includes a small indicator near the timestamp to denote its origin. A support ticket number is also assigned for reference.
Can You Still Talk to a Human?
While the chatbot handles most queries, it doesn’t completely eliminate human interaction. When users request human support, WhatsApp confirms that the chat is monitored and that a support agent may step in “if needed.”
Currently, the feature is limited to iOS, but it is being tested on Android as well. Gadgets 360 confirmed its availability on the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Androidsuggesting a full rollout is likely soon.
This move aligns with Meta’s broader AI push, including the recent announcement of an AI chatbot that helps businesses with product recommendations.
Final Word
WhatsApp’s new AI-powered support chat is designed to resolve issues faster and more efficientlywith the added reassurance of human oversight when required. It’s a practical upgrade for users, especially as WhatsApp continues integrating smart assistance into its platform.
