Emmy 2025: Reality TV And Talk Show Nominations Unveiled , See Who Made The Cut
ABP Live Entertainment | July 15, 2025 10:41 PM CST

CBS Mornings set the ball rolling for the 2025 Emmy Awards on Tuesday, revealing the first wave of nominees in two major categories—Outstanding Talk Series and Outstanding Reality Competition Program. The rest of the highly anticipated nominations will be announced later in the day by actors Brenda Song (Running Point) and Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows).

Emmy Awards Nominations Announced

This year, the talk series category is slimmer than usual, featuring just three heavy-hitters. “The Daily Show,” which took home the trophy last year, returns to compete alongside “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” With fierce competition and ever-evolving formats, these staples of late-night television continue to push boundaries and dominate cultural discourse.

The Emmy nods for Outstanding Reality Competition Program bring back some familiar favourites. “The Amazing Race,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Survivor,” and “Top Chef” are all back in the spotlight, joined by breakout hit “The Traitors.” As the genre continues to blend entertainment with emotional storytelling, these series have maintained strong viewership and critical acclaim.

Among the most anticipated nominees yet to be revealed are several streaming dramas expected to make waves. “Severance,” the dark psychological thriller starring Adam Scott, is eyeing a major comeback after securing 14 nominations in 2023 but only winning two. Meanwhile, Seth Rogen’s meta comedy “The Studio” and gripping titles like “Slow Horses,” “Shrinking,” and “Presumed Innocent” are tipped to score big.

The main categories still to be announced include Lead Actor and Actress in Drama, Comedy, and Limited or Anthology Series, along with Best Drama, Comedy, and Limited Series.
