Team India men's and women's teams were given a royal welcome at St. James's Palace in London on Tuesday, July 15. Both teams had the honour to meet and speak to King Charles III. Shubman Gill reveals conversation with King Charles III
Speaking about the experience, men's team skipper Shubman Gill said," It was a humbling experience. He was so kind and generous and had a lovely conversation with us. He seemed kind and we did not expect that he would be watching the match (Lord's Test). He said he watched bits and pieces of the last session we played.
Gill while speaking to ANI said that King Charles called the way Mohammed Siraj got out during the last day of the test match between India and England “unfortunate”. England’s Shoaib Bashir's delivery got the better of Mohammed Siraj as the ball rolled back onto the stumps.

He said, "King Charles III told us that the way our last batsman got out in the previous test match was quite unfortunate, the ball rolling on the stumps.We told him that it was an unfortunate match for us and could have gone either ways. Hopefully, we will have better luck in both the next games,”

Indian women's team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said, : It was agreat experience. It was the first time when we met the king. He was very friendly and gave us lot of time, spoke to everyone."
