Odisha Enter Final Of Sub-Junior Women’s National Hockey, To Face Hosts Jharkhand For Title

Bhubaneswar: Odisha girls are just one win away from lifting the coveted trophy in the 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s National Championship.

On Saturday, Odisha eked out a hard-fought 1-0 win over tough opponents Haryana in the first semifinal at Ranchi. Sudipa Baa scored in the 45th minute, and that goal proved out to be the difference between the two teams.

Sudipa was adjudged Player of the Match.

In the second semifinal, Jharkhand were also made to sweat before they edged past Mizoram 1-0. Jirn Soy Munda scored the matchwinner in the 26th minute.

The final will be played at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi on Monday, from 4 pm.
