Bangladesh’s cricket tour of Sri Lanka in 2025 ended on a high note for the visitors. After defeats in both the Tests and ODIs, the Tigers won T20I series by 2-1.

The deciding match was played at R. Premadasa Stadium on July 16, and Bangladesh grabbed the victory by 8 wickets to clinch the series 2-1.

This result gave Litton Das a special place in Bangladesh cricket history. With this result, he became the only captain from Bangladesh to win two T20I series outside the country.

What happened in the Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I in Colombo?

Sri Lanka won the toss in the final game and chose to bat first. But things didn’t go as they planned. Their innings struggled to get going, even though Pathum Nissanka scored 46 and Dasun Shanaka added 35. Most of the other batters couldn’t reach double digits.

For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan was the star with the ball. He took 4 wickets and gave away just 11 runs in four overs.

His spell broke the back of Sri Lanka’s batting, and others like Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam also played their part. Sri Lanka finished with 132/7 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh had a shaky start, losing Parvez Hossain Emon on the first ball. But Tanzid Hasan made sure there was no collapse. He smashed an unbeaten 73 off just 47 balls. Litton Das supported him well with 32 runs, and Towhid Hridoy finished the job with a steady 27 not out.
