Seeman station of Rupnagar gets ISO certification

Chandigarh: The Punjab government is attracting farmers to agriculture as well as assistant businesses to improve the economic condition of farmers. One of these important areas is animal husbandry. The aim of the government is that more and more farmers connect with this business and improve the breed of animals, so that farmers can get high quality animals and increase their income.

The Animal Husbandry Minister said that Seeman Station of Rupnagar has received the certification of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is an important achievement of the Animal Husbandry Department of Punjab. This certification reflects the commitment to quality in the services of the department.

Two semen banks of the state get certificates

Punjab’s Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister S Gurmeet Singh Khudia said that two semen banks of the state have received ISO certification, which is a proof of the government’s strong loyalty. He said that Rupnagar Seeman Station has prepared 1.06 lakh semen straws in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, and aims to produce 5.20 lakh straws in a year.


Congratulations to scientists for good efforts

While congratulating the officials of the department for this achievement, Khudians said that modernization of the department will help farmers to increase their income through subsidiaries like dairy and animal husbandry. He also informed that Seeman Station of Nabha has received ISO 9001: 2015 certification by the Government of India and has been given the status of Grade ‘A’. Nabha station has prepared 3,11,000 semen straws in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, and aims to prepare 16.39 lakh straws throughout the year, which is higher than the previous year.
