The Adani Group has sold 20 percent stake in AWL Agri Business Limited to Wilmer International, Singapore for Rs 7,150 crore. The company reported this to the stock market. The name of AWL Agri Business Limited was earlier Adani Wilmer Limited. The Adani Group announced the sale of its entire 44 percent stake in Adani Wilmer in December. The aim of the group behind this was to focus on its main infrastructure business.
How to deal with Wilmer International
Adani Commodities LLP (ACL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL), and the subsidiary Lens PTE Limited of Wilmer International, Singapore, had signed an agreement. He gave each other the option to buy or sell AEL/ACL shares in AWL (Adani Wilmer Limited), but it should not exceed Rs 305 per share. Both had a total stake in the company about 88 percent (44 percent) in total.
AEL/Ail sold its 13.5 percent stake in January 2025 at a price of Rs 276.51 per share. Subsequently, AEL/Ail had about 30.42 percent stake in AWL. The Adani Group has now sold 20 percent stake in the AWL Agri business in the deal of Rs 7,150 crore to Wilmer International in Singapore at a price of Rs 275 per share.
Adani exits FMCG business
This stake is part of the Plan to get out of the business of daily consumption goods (FMCG) of the sale of sales. After the latest transactions, Wilmer International has become a majority shareholder in the AWL Agri, overtaking Adani with a 64 percent stake.
Share ran like a rocket after the deal
After the deal between Adani Wilmer and International Wilmer, Adani Wilmer's shares Intrade saw a gain of 6.40 percent. On Thursday, Adani Wilmer's stock market was at Rs 264, which closed at Rs 279.15 when the market was closed.
