What is the difference between mantras, verses, hymns, sutras, aarti

Sanatan Dharma is very vast. It contains many Vedas, Purana and Shastra which contains mantras, verses, praise. We use them differently in devotion and worship at different times, but what is the difference between them?

Actually Shloka, Mantra, Sutras and Stotra, all these are different forms of the holy verses or praise used in scriptures and spiritual practices. Mantras, verses, hymns, sutras and aarti, all these are words used in Hindu religious practices, but their meanings and uses are different.

mantra

The mantra can be a sacred sound, word or phrase. Its pronunciation is meditated, meditated and chanting. Mantras have power and vibration which affects the mind and consciousness. The example of this is found in ancient texts like Yoga Sutra or Brahma Sutra of Patanjali.

Stotra

Stotra is a type of prayer or praise, which is usually written in praise of the gods and is used as their call. It can be a collection of one or more verses, and its purpose is to glorify God and get their blessings. These are usually longer than the verses.

Hindu ritual of worship

Aarti is a religious ritual in which God is worshiped by lighting a lamp. It is a rhythmic song of God in a rhythmic way, which is sung like a song.

Of course, the use and purpose of all these is practice and worship and there are many similarities but they are different from each other based on their composition.
