After a successful theatrical run, Housefull 5, the star-studded comedy caper featuring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh, has finally dropped on Amazon Prime Video. But fans expecting a standard OTT release are in for a surprise. Just like its theatrical experiment, the film arrives on the platform in two distinct versions—each with a different killer and alternate ending. And to watch both, viewers will need to open their wallets twice.
Housefull 5 on OTT: Two Endings, One Price Tag
When Housefull 5 hit theatres on June 6, it was released in two separate versions: Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B. Each version featured a different killer and a unique ending to the murder mystery comedy.
Now, both versions are available to rent on Prime Video at ₹349 each. This means viewers must spend ₹698 if they wish to watch both endings and discover how each version unfolds. There is currently no confirmation on when the film will be available to stream as part of a subscription.
Housefull 5 A Or B: We’ve Tried Both—Now Let Us Steer You Clear Of The Worst
Housefull 5 review
The ABP Live review of the film reads: The first half is thoroughly entertaining, with tightly written scenes and well-executed comic punches. There’s rarely a dull moment. While the second half does feel slightly stretched, it regains momentum by the climax, delivering a payoff reminiscent of Priyadarshan-style comedies. Had the latter half maintained the energy of the first, this could have been an even stronger film. Still, it delivers what it promises—commercial entertainment that requires no deep thought and only a willingness to laugh.
That said, the film does feature adult comedy and suggestive dialogue, so parental discretion is advised for younger viewers. Visually, the film is vibrant, with glamorous costumes, lavish sets, and slick production values.
