Uddhav Thackeray, the head of Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), has indicated that he can openly discuss with his cousin Raj Thackeray and will also communicate directly if needed. He said that Raj Thackeray can take initiative in this way, especially when the issue is to the upcoming municipal elections and Marathi language.

In an interview, when Sanjay Raut asked him if he was willing to meet Raj Thackeray, Uddhav clearly said that he would not meet with any hidden agenda. He said that we are Thackeray, not behind the scenes, but openly meet in front of everyone.

What did Uddhav say on local body elections?

In the context of local body elections, when the strategy of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was questioned, Uddhav said that the Congress has clarified that his local leadership will decide on it. He said that if the Congress wants to adopt a separate strategy, then the Shiv Sena will also move forward accordingly.

Accepting the mistakes made in the assembly elections, Uddhav said that if the same mistake is made again, it would be useless to come together. He spoke of unity in the Lok Sabha, but mentioned the defeat due to selfishness in the assembly, although no one was directly accused. Questioning EVMs, Uddhav demanded the ballot papers to hold elections. He said that even if it takes some time for the counting of votes, no harm, countries like America and Europe also conduct elections with ballot paper.
