With the anticipation for Don 3 at an all-time high, the film is already making waves — not just for its star-studded ensemble, but also for its recent casting shake-up. Originally slated to star Kiara Advani opposite Ranveer Singh, the female lead role has now gone to National Award winner Kriti Sanon. Reports suggest Kiara opted out of the project after the birth of her daughter with husband Sidharth Malhotra.
Karan Veer Mehra May Step Into Villain’s Shoes
Another major development surrounds the film’s villain. Actor Vikrant Massey has reportedly exited the project, leaving the makers in search of a fresh face for the antagonist. The frontrunner? Actor and Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra.
Known for his work across television and digital platforms, Mehra's recent gritty performance in Silaa has reportedly caught the attention of the film’s producers. Sources told IANS that “the offer was hard to refuse,” though no official confirmation has been made yet.

Kriti Sanon Officially On Board As Kiara Advani Walks Out
Kriti Sanon’s involvement has been officially confirmed by Don 3 production houses — Blue Lotus, Stark Entertainment, and Zee Studios. Meanwhile, speculation continues around potential cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, though the filmmakers have not addressed these rumours.
Previous reports hinted that South star Vijay Deverakonda was also approached for the villain role. However, following the box office disappointment of Liger, the actor is said to have declined the offer. Vikrant Massey’s departure, reportedly due to the role’s limited scope, only added to the speculation. Now, with Mehra in the spotlight, the puzzle pieces are slowly falling into place.
Directed by Farhan Akhtar, Don 3 is expected to go on floors in January 2026.
