After Ashish Chanchlani shared a loved-up photo with Elli AvrRam, social media users targeted Elli with sexist remarks, particularly mocking her alleged "body count". Ashish remained silent initially, which led to criticism from users who felt he should have defended his co-star. He reacted to the trolling and called the comments 'pathetic' and 'disgusting'. However, he soon deleted his post
Popular YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani has responded to backlash after his co-star Elli AvrRam was subjected to misogynistic trolling over a promotional post for their new song. The controversy erupted after Ashish shared a photo a few days ago in which he is seen lifting Elli in his arms with the caption "Finally," leading many to believe the two were romantically involved.
The post soon went viral but was later revealed to be a promotional gimmick for an upcoming music video Chandaniya.
However, after Ashish had shared the photo last week, several social media users began targeting Elli with crude and sexist remarks, particularly mocking her alleged "body count" - a term often misused online to shame women for their personal lives.
Ashish breaks silence after trolls target Elli
Amid the storm, Ashish remained silent initially, which led to further criticism from users who felt he should have defended his co-star.
On July 20, one user on X (formerly known as Twitter) directly called out the YouTuber, writing, "Bhai seriously bol rha hu ekdum shit song tha and iske liye tune prank kiya and tere fans ne is bandi ka character assassination kiya and tu chup hai."
Reacting to the post, Ashish wrote, "I wanna clear something before you all. Make no mistake. Those ‘people’ in my comments are not my audience/fans or followers. Half of them don’t even follow me. It’s a free platform and an open tweet, and all the disgusting things they said will never be supported or encouraged by me or my fans."

He further added, "My subs are not like this - anyone who has been closely following me for a decade knows what I preach in my fandom. Rest assured, it’s pathetic what happened and I’ll be addressing it soon."
Ashish deletes post
Just a couple of hours after sharing it, Ashish deleted the post. A screenshot of the post has however gone viral online.
Why was Elli trolled?
A few days back, Elli became the target of misogynistic trolling, including remarks about her 'body count'. In fact, a section of users also claimed her alleged body count was 35, warning Ashish to be cautious.
Soon after such comments surfaced, several netizens came to Elli's defense on social media.
While Elli did not directly react to the trolls, she had posted a picture on her Instagram story which looked like a DM, and the message read, "Your s*xiest body part is your mind." Along with the picture, she wrote, "True story."
