
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that there may be torrential rains in many parts of the country from July 21 to July 26, 2025. According to the Meteorological Department, widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected from North India to South India and Northeast states.
The effect of monsoon will be visible across the country
Heavy rains may continue in many states of eastern, western, northern, northeastern, central and southern India for the next one week. There is a possibility of rain with lightning and heavy thunder at many places in the western Himalayan region and plains as well.
Heavy rains in northeastern and sub-Himalayan regions too
Very heavy rains are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and northeastern states from 21st to 27th July.

21 to 24 July : There is an alert of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

21 to 23 July : There is a warning of very heavy rainfall in some areas of Himachal.

July 21 and 22 : Very heavy rains may occur at some places in Uttarakhand.

21 to 24 July : Rain will continue in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir also.

July 21 : Heavy rain in western Uttar Pradesh.

July 26 : Heavy rain forecast in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

22nd and 26th July : Possibility of rain in eastern Rajasthan also.
Heavy rains also in central and eastern India

July 23 to 25 : Possibility of heavy rains in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.

23 to 26 July : Very heavy rainfall may occur in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.

July 20 to 26 : Continuous rainfall likely to continue in Odisha.

20th and 21st July : Heavy rains may occur in Bihar also.
Impact in South India too
Heavy to very heavy rains may continue over Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu for another 6 to 7 days.
