Laptop got wet in monsoon? Do not panic, save big losses in these 7 ways

The monsoon season may bring coolness and relief, but this time can prove to be quite dangerous for electronic gadgets, especially laptops. A small negligence can spoil your expensive device and can make the cost of repairing thousands of rupees. If your laptop is drenched in rain or water has fallen on it, then follow these important steps instead of panic.

1. Close laptop first
If the laptop is on and water is dropped on it, shutdown immediately. Milan of water and electricity can increase the risk of short circuit, causing severe damage to the motherboard or screen.

2. Remove power and all accessories
Immediately disconnect all external devices like charger, USB, headphones. If the battery of the laptop is removable, then take it out.

3. Start the drying process
Wipe the laptop with a clean cotton cloth and keep it upside down and place it on a dry surface so that the water can come out. Do not turn on for at least 24 to 48 hours.

4. Avoid hair dryer
Do not use a hair dryer or heater to dry the laptop. This can melt the circuit. Natural wind or fan help is the safest option.

5. Use rice or silica gel
Put the laptop in a closed plastic bag and add rice or silica gel packet to it. It helps in absorbing moisture. Leave it like this for at least 48 hours.

6. Do not make the mistake of opening yourself
If you are not technical, do not try to open the laptop yourself, this may eliminate the warranty and increase the loss.

7. Must go to the service center
If the laptop smells of burning or is not turned on, then show it in an authorized service center as soon as possible.
