The Clavis EV is the latest launch from Kia and is an electric MPV while also being its entry level EV. It is a mass-market EV from Kia and starts at Rs 17.99 lakh. Now, lets see how it compares with the Innova Hycross which is its main rival of sorts while it comes with a hybrid powertrain.
Which is bigger?
The Innova Hycross has a length of 4755mm while the Carens Clavis EV has a length of 4550mm. The Innova Hycross is also wider and taller than the Kia as well. Even in terms of the wheelbase, the Carens Clavis comes up short at 2780mm vs the Innova Hycross at 2850mm.
Which car has more power?
The Carens Clavis EV comes with 42kWh and 51.4kWh options with power being 171bhp for the top-end and the lower variant develops less at 135hp. The Innova Hycross here makes more power at 184bhp which is a combined output via its hybrid powertrain. There is also a petrol only Innova Hycross.
Which car is more efficient?
The Carens Clavis EV has a range of 490km for its biggest battery pack. The Innova Hycross hybrid on the other hand can go till 1000km for a full tank while expect around 800km at least with its 23.24kmpl mileage.
Which is more affordable?
The Carens Clavis EV is priced between Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 24.49 lakh. The Innova Hycross is priced between Rs 19.9 lakh and the top-end is Rs 32.5 lakh. While the Carens Clavis EV is cheaper, the Innova Hycross is more practical as it has more range while being perfect for long trips while being efficient too. The low range of the Clavis EV means it is more a city based EV and in that sense you can consider that being cheaper.
