Although this decision is for Chinese citizens, it will also affect those Indian students and travelers who want to go to China for education or business. Relations between India and China are gradually improving, and as a result, the doors of travel and education between the two countries are now opening again.

After the onset of covid-19 in March 2020, the Government of India had temporarily stopped all tourist visas keeping in mind the safety. For about 4 years, other travels except business and education related travels had almost come to a standstill.

The Indian Embassy in Beijing has informed that a new protocol will now be adopted for visa application. If you want to withdraw the passport, you will have to submit a 'passport withdrawal letter'. The tension between India and China is now gradually decreasing. The armies have withdrawn from areas like Depsang, Demchok, Galwan and Pangong Lake. After the leaders of the two countries met in Russia in October 2024, it was decided that direct flights and religious pilgrimages would be resumed to increase people-to-people contact.
