Natural ways to keep insects away in rainy season

While the rainy season relieves the heat, it also brings floods of unwanted guests – mosquitoes, ants, flies and cockroaches. These insects thrive in moisture and stagnant water, which increases health risks such as dengue, malaria, skin infection and food contamination. But the good news is that you can fight them even without using harmful chemicals. There are six simple, natural measures that help to keep your house insect-free while being environmentally friendly:

1. Remove and cover the stalled water

Stagnant water is a major place for breeding of mosquitoes. Include things like trays placed under plants in pots, buckets and pots in your routine. Cover water storage tanks and consider putting a few drops of kerosene or copper coin to prevent mosquito larvae from growing.

2. Use mosquito nets and window curtains. Stop the entry of insects using fine forged curtains on windows and vents. Sleeping under a mosquito nets can stay safe overnight without any chemical spray. These physical obstructions are particularly useful for the houses near gardens or reservoirs.

3. Keep the places dry and clean. A clean, dry house attracts less to insects. Wipe the kitchen surfaces regularly, wipe the floor with lemon or vinegar water and keep the food items thoroughly. Do not forget the corners and drains, which are common places to hide. A DIY spray made of vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice serves as a great natural disinfectant and insect distinguished.

4. Choose warm-tone lighting. Insects are attracted to bright white and blue lights. Using hot yellow lights, especially in balcony or outskirts, can significantly reduce the activation of insects. The yellow light emits a wavelength that attracts most of the insects, giving a simple but effective solution.

5. Try natural insect disturbances: Traditional remedies like camphor can do miracles. To drive away mosquitoes and cockroaches, burn camphor or put it in a water bowl. One more remedy: Boil garlic buds in water and make a spicy spray that drives the insects with cracks and corners.

6. Use essential oils: Aromatic and effective essential oils like citronella, neem and lemongrass are natural insect icons. To apply on the skin, add a few drops to coconut oil or mix in water to spray indoors. They not only help in removing insects, but also make your home fresh fragrant.

These natural remedies provide a safe and conscious way to keep insects away during the rainy season. With just a few small changes and domestic materials, you can enjoy a clean and healthy monsoon.
