Minda teams up with Qualcomm for next-gen car digital consoles

Minda Corporation Limited, the flagship company of the Spark Minda Group, announced its strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to develop smart and advanced cockpit solutions for the Indian automotive market. The company revealed that the new smart interface will be powered by the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform.

At the announcement of the collaboration, Suresh D, Group CTO, Minda Corporation Limited, said, “Our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies marks a significant milestone in enhancing Minda Corporation’s capabilities in delivering nextgeneration digital cockpit solutions.

By leveraging Qualcomm’s advanced automotive platforms, this strategic partnership enables us to offer intuitive HMI, seamless multidisplay integration and softwaredefined cockpit architectures built on Android and QNX operating systems. This alliance reflects our commitment to technological leadership and aligns with our longterm vision of delivering intelligent, connected and usercentric experiences that create sustainable value for OEMs, end users and shareholders.”

What to expect from a smart cockpit?

The Snapdragon Digital Chassis is currently available in vehicles like the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e, but the nextgeneration vehicles will boast stateoftheart connected and intelligent features that will transform the driving experience.

Qualcomm showcased its technology might with the Mahindra XEV 9e, which comes with a segmentfirst three 12.3inch displays, including one for the front passenger. With AIdriven technology, the digital cockpit offers customisation options that meet the needs and preferences of the person behind the wheel. The current generation platform has a fast and intuitive interface with over 230,000 DMIPS (Dhrystone Million Instructions Per Second), making it exceptionally seamless.

In terms of multimedia functions, it offers highquality visuals, smart voice recognition commands and controls, and highdefinition video formats. It offers stateoftheart entertainment functions and realtime information, which is vital for the driver.
