
Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced that the Fronx has become the fastest SUV from India to clock an export of 1 lakh units. This milestone was achieved in just 25 months. The model is exclusively manufactured at the company’s Gujarat facility. Launched in April 2023 in India, the export of Fronx commenced to markets like Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa the same year.
On this achievement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Maruti Suzuki’s capability to manufacture worldclass vehicles for global markets exemplifies the true essence of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Our renewed focus on international markets has been instrumental in Maruti Suzuki’s continued leadership in passenger vehicle exports. Fronx is delighting customers all over the world. Besides clocking the fastest 1 lakh exports, Fronx was also India’s number 1 exported passenger vehicle in FY 202425.”
Maruti Suzuki Q1 FY26 results
In Q1 FY26, Maruti Suzuki registered over 96,000 passenger vehicles (PV) with a 47% market share in exports. This is the fourth time in a row that the company has managed to clinch the title for being the number one PV in the country. FY25 was a record year for the automobile manufacturer as it signed off on 3.3 lakh units in exports. This was a 17.5% massive jump from the previous financial year. Maruti Suzuki exports 17 vehicles to around 100 countries, and the top export vehicles are the Fronx, Swift, Jimny, Baleno and Dzire.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Specifications
The Fronx comes under Maruti Suzuki’s premium brand, Nexa, and is currently the only vehicle in the lineup to offer a turbo petrol engine. The SUV offers two petrol engines — the 1.2litre naturally aspirated and the 1litre turbo. Apart from this, it is also available in CNG. The NA powertrain makes 88.5 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4,400 rpm. The turbo, on the other hand, has 98.6 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 147.6 Nm at 20004500 rpm. The standard version starts at Rs 8.90 lakh, while the turbo is from Rs 11.98 lakh, exshowroom.
