There are not many sportscars below or at Rs 1 crore but now the choices have increased with the new MG Cyberster being launched in India. The Cyberster is an all electric two seater roadster while its only rival would be the BMW Z4 Roadster which is petrol powered. Here we take a look at how these two compare on paper.

Which is bigger?

The Cyberster and Z4 are both low sports cars while the Cybertser is slightly longer and wider while both have nearly the same low ground clearance. Both designs have the standard roadster sports car look while the Cyberster has those unique doors which makes it stand out. The Z4 also has an aggressive design while the Cyberster has a sharper edgy stance here.

Which car is more powerful?

The Z4 comes with a  3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine which develops 340hp and 500Nm. Standard is an 8-speed automatic and it is of course RWD. The Cyberster on the other hand has a dual motor layout which means 510hp and 725Nm. The Cyberster which would be available in India would be the top-end AWD. Range is expected to 580km for the Cyberster while hte BMW Z4 has a claimed efficiency if 12.9 kmpl. In terms of performance, the 0-100 km/h of the Cyberster is 3.2 seconds while on the other hand, the BMW will do the same in 4.5 seconds.

Which car is more value for money?

Both cars are high-end sports cars with premium features while being two-seaters. The Z4 starts from Rs 92.9 lakh while we expect the Cyberster to start much lower at Rs 70 lakh. The Cyberster would be retailed via the MG Select showrooms. The Cyberster has more performance and looks along with those supercar like doors while being cheaper too. The Z4 has the rev happy petrol engine along with a more old-school RWD layout. Both cars have fast operating roofs as well which makes them fairly practical. In the end it boils down to what you prefer in terms of the prefered sports car experience.
