WhatsApp is preparing to bring a new and innovative feature for Android users, which will be named 'Quick Recap'. The biggest feature of this feature is that now you will not have to get lost in a lot of unread messages, because WhatsApp itself will prepare a summary, i.e., a recap, of many chats for you. This feature can prove to be very helpful amid growing groups and messages left behind repeatedly in chatting, especially for those users who handle multiple conversations simultaneously.

This new Quick Recap feature was first spotted by the famous feature tracker WABetaInfo, which shows that WhatsApp is currently testing this feature in its Android beta version (v2.25.21.12). The report states that users can select up to five chats by going to the Chats tab, after which the option of 'Quick Recap' will appear in the three-dot menu above. As soon as you click on it, WhatsApp will create a top-level AI-based summary of the unread messages of those selected chats.

The Quick Recap feature will be completely optional; that is, it will be off by default, and users will be able to activate it by going to the settings as per their wish. The special thing is that this feature will not work on chats that have Advanced Chat Privacy turned on; that is, your privacy will remain completely intact. WhatsApp has used Meta's private processing technology so that these summaries remain end-to-end encrypted and neither WhatsApp nor Meta can access them.

At present, this feature is only in beta stage and is not available to general users. But according to the feature tracker, in the coming time, the company can start rolling it out for other users as well. In terms of security, WhatsApp has also assured that its AI summary process will be completely private and safe.
