The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has made some important changes to reduce the increasing pressure on the UPI system and to prevent problems like fail transaction. Whose effect is going to be affected from the common man to those who do business.
What will be the new rules from 1 August?
- From now on, users will be able to check the account balance only 50 times in 24 hours. Which was earlier unlimited.
- Apart from this, the limit to view bank accounts linked to the phone number has been fixed 25 times per day.
According to NPCI, “The aim of these changes is to reduce unnecessary load on the system and make UPI service more reliable in peak time”.
Changes in UPI Autopay
Those users who used auto payment for, subscription, EMI or bill payment will be processed in the scheduled transactions fixed time slots. Although this change is associated with the backndary process, this will reduce congestion on the platform and improve the speed of UPI transactions. Talking about the time, the payment will not be in the peak arrows, before 10:00 am, between 1:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon and only after 9:30 pm.
Will these changes be applicable to all users?
Yes. This rule is being implemented on every UPI user, whether it is transaction once a day or twenty times. However, if you are among those who do not refresh the balance check or status repeatedly, then you do not need to make much difference. These changes are mainly for heavy users who inadvertently pressurize the system by sending requests on the system inadvertently.
No change in payment limit from UPI
- The biggest relief is that there has been no change in the maximum limit of payment from UPI at a time.
- In general cases a transaction limit is up to ₹ 1 lakh.
- This limit is up to ₹ 5 lakh for special sectors like healthcare and education.
