Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid homage to the martyred soldiers during the program organized on the occasion of Kargil Victory Day today, saying that the great martyrdom of army warriors during the Kargil war will always inspire our youth with the spirit of patriotism and always inspire the nation to serve the nation with selfless spirit.

Expressing reverence and honor to the martyrs, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes at the war memorial at Boganwilia Garden here and paid tribute to the brave soldiers of Punjab who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil war. Recalling the Kargil War of 1999, the Chief Minister said that during this war, the entire country had introduced solidarity with the spirit of patriotism.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Kargil Victory Day is a symbol of the unique valor of the armed forces of India as our soldiers wrote an unmatched saga of sacrifice, valor and bravery in this war. He said that despite all the challenges, the Indian Army gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani Army infiltrating Kargil, Dras and Batalik regions in July 1999. Bhagwant Mann said that such an example of the unique bravery shown by Indian soldiers is not found anywhere in the world history, which will continue to inspire our youth to serve the motherland by joining the Indian Army.

During this time, the Chief Minister said that the country will always be indebted to its brave sons, who protect the country’s borders even in the harsh summer and harsh winter. He said that as an honor of the exemplary contribution of soldiers, the state government provides financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of soldiers who were martyred while on duty. Bhagwant Mann said that this effort of the state government is a humble effort towards the service being done by our soldiers.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister encouraged him to join the armed forces to protect the unity and integrity of the country, having brief conversation with NCC cadets and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparation Institute and My Bhago Armed Forces Preparation Institute, Mohali. Bhagwant Mann said that he can become a role model to create a sense of patriotism and nationalism even among the rest of the youth. P.A.P.
