A new controversy has emerged around Ranveer Singh’s upcoming Bollywood film Dharendraafter footage surfaced showing the use of the Pakistani flag, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) banners, and a portrait of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

In a recently released teaser featuring the film’s characters and action sequences, visuals of PPP flags, banners, and Benazir Bhutto’s image are clearly visible. The teaser also showcases key actors including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal.

From the scenes and character portrayals, it appears the film promotes an anti-Pakistan narrative.

The teaser includes scenes featuring characters dressed as Pakistani police officers. In one scene, Sanjay Dutt’s character is shown being arrested by these officers, while Ranveer Singh’s character appears to engage in violent action sequences, seemingly set in Pakistani territories.

Earlier, a behind-the-scenes video from the film’s shoot had gone viral, showing the Pakistani flag being raised. Indian social media users criticized Ranveer Singh for this, with some calling for a boycott of the actor.

Many users pointed out the double standard, referencing the backlash Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh faced for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, questioning why a similar response wasn’t being directed at Ranveer Singh.

Now, with the teaser showing explicit references to Pakistani political symbols—including PPP flags, posters, and Benazir Bhutto’s portrait—it’s evident that parts of the film’s storyline are set in Pakistan.

While the exact plot of Dharendra remains unclear, Indian media reports suggest it revolves around a high-stakes secret mission by an Indian intelligence officer. The narrative reportedly uncovers major conspiracies to national security.

Ranveer Singh is expected to play the role of the intelligence officer. Much like previous Bollywood films, Dharendra is also anticipated to portray Pakistan in a negative light.
