Candidates can fill in their course and college choices until July 28, with tentative seat allotment results on July 29. The final allotment list will be published on July 30, after confirmation from selected candidates.
TNEA 2025 Round 2 Counselling: The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) began Round 2 of the TNEA 2025 engineering counselling today, July 26. The round witnesses a steep increase in the number of participants, with 98,564 general category students being eligible, nearly twice the number from Round 1, which had 39,145 applicants.
Who Can Participate?
Applicants with cut-off marks from 178.9 to 143 can participate in this round. From July 26 to July 28, students can start filling out college and course preferences through the official counselling website.
Important Dates
July 29: Provisional allotment results will be announced.
July 29 – 30: Candidates are required to accept their tentative allotments.
July 30: Final provisional allotment list will be released.
7.5% Reservation Quota
Meanwhile, Round 2 counselling for students of government schools under the 7.5% quota of reservation has also commenced, with 16,258 eligible candidates. Their counselling process is a replica of the general category one.
What's Next?
- Round 3 (Final Round) from August 7 to August 9, for candidates having cut-off marks ranging from 143 to 77.5.
- Admission process, including supplementary counselling will end by August 26.
The DoTE has instructed all the candidates to adhere strictly to deadlines and remain up-to-date from official websites in order not to miss crucial steps during the counselling and admissions process.
