
It has been over a decade since Tanushree Dutta stepped away from the entertainment world but people still remember her as the actress opposite Emraan Hashmi in Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Though her career was short-lived but her performances left an indelible mark in the industry. Tanushree comes from a typical Bengali Hindu family. She completed her schooling from D.B.M.S. English School and later attended Savitribai Phule Pune University for higher studies. After completing her studies she ventured into modeling and witnessed life altering moment in 2004 when she won the Femina Miss Indian tile which rose her to national stardom. Some of her films like Bhagam Bhag Dhol 36 China Town failed to become commercial hits. In 2010 Tanushree ventured into South Indian cinema with Tamil film Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai directed by Thiru. The actress was last seen in the television series Supercops Vs Super Villains (2013). After that she moved to United States distancing herself from the limelight. How Tanushree Dutta became an inspiration for many? Tanushrees decision to step away from the industry reflected her need to prioritise well-being over her demanding job. She followed the path of spirituality and during the journey she became a voice for justice and equality. In 2018 she played a massive role in the #MeToo movement in India fearlessly speaking out harassment in the workplace. Her actions and voice prompted several other actresses to take a stance and speak out their own stories. Tanushrees journey to spiritual awakening led her to the path of self-discovery. She continues to live her life on own terms away from the world of glitz and glam. While she is away from the silver screen for many years she continues to be a role model for many taking up the courage to speak up and shatter those societal norms.
