  • Tour Dal – 1 cup
  • Fenugreek leaves – 2 cups (cleaning and washed)
  • Onion – 1 (chopped)
  • Tomato – 1 (chopped)
  • Hing – 1 pinch
  • Cumin – 1 tsp
  • Mustard – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1 tsp
  • Red Tip – 1 Tipun (Otherwise)
  • Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
  • Salt – To taste
  • Ghee/oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Water – 1 »(or whatever)

Action

  • For this, first wash rice and pulses and soak in water for at least 5 minutes.
  • Heat ghee/oil in a cooker and add mustard, cumin seeds and hinges to it.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste and chopped onion to it.
  • Now add chopped fenugreek leaves and tomatoes and mix for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then add turmeric powder, chili powder and salt and stir well.
  • Now add soaked rice and dal and return for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then add water and cover the cooker and cook until 3 whistles.
  • When the cooker cools, open the lid, stir the khichi with a hot pickle, papad or yogurt.
  • If the bitter taste of fenugreek is reduced, add a little salt and then wash the leaves.
  • You can also add finely chopped vegetables to the coconut.
