India was runner -up in the 2005 Women’s World Cup, yet every player got ₹ 8,000 for just ₹ 1,000 per match. Mithali also stated that the BCCI started the annual contracts for women players much later. The improvement in women’s cricket today is possible after all these conflicts.

Equal pay policy of BCCI

There was a big change for women’s cricket when the BCCI took it under it. After this decision, the economic condition of the players gradually started improving. First he started getting money for every series, then this payment started according to every match. This led to a professional style in women’s cricket. Later, the BCCI took many good steps to bring equality between women and male cricket. Central contracts were implemented and attempts to give the same facilities and rewards to both teams began. The biggest change came when the match fees of women and male cricketers were equal to ₹ 15 lakh for E-Test match, ₹ 6 lakh for ODI and ₹ 3 lakh for T20.

It was a historic decision that gave women cricket equal and the right to identity. The brilliant performance of the Indian women’s team also played a big role in it. The team was runner -up in the 2017 ODI World Cup, after which every player was given a reward of ₹ 50 lakh by the BCCI. Mithali Raj credited these successes for the support and support of the BCCI, which brought a new phase for women’s cricket.
