In terms of box office performance Sitaare Zameen Par earned approximately Rs 10.7 crore on its opening day in India with a worldwide collection of Rs 20 crore. As of July 29 Aamir Khans film has achieved remarkable box office success. The film has collected Rs 166 crore net in India with a gross domestic total of Rs 198.25 crore. Overseas it earned Rs 65.25 crore taking the worldwide total collection to an impressive Rs 263.5 crore. With these figures Sitaare Zameen Par has emerged as one of the top-grossing Hindi films of the year securing the second position after Chhaava.
