Andhra pradesh sbi robbery: In Andhra Pradesh, at around 2 pm on Saturday, unidentified thieves broke into the bank and stole 10 kg of gold and Rs 38 lakh cash. The special thing is that no security guards were stationed in the bank at the time of theft, and no watchman was kept in this branch for the last four years.
Police came to know about this sensational incident on Monday, after which many shocking facts have been revealed in the investigation. VV Mahesh of Hindupur Deputy Deputy Police Officer (SDPO) said that preliminary investigation revealed that the thieves stayed in the bank premises for about two hours. The thieves first targeted the bank’s CCTV surveillance system and deleted the footage.
CCTV footage will open secret!
However, the police have received some CCTV footage, in which a person has been seen entering the bank. After this, the rest of the thieves probably came in. The police suspect that the theft has been done with a planned and deep preparation. The bank’s security system has been found to be extremely weak. According to the officer Mahesh, the bank has a large window, which has only two-three thin grills which can also be folded with hands. The thieves are expected to enter inside using this window. The negligence of the bank management has also been revealed about the safety of this branch, because no night guards have been deployed here for four years.
Banks kept searching for two hours
This theft incident has raised serious questions on the security system of the bank. The way the thieves neutralized the CCTV system and stayed inside the bank for two hours without any restriction, it shows that the cyber and physical security system of the bank failed completely.
Forensic investigation begins
The Andhra Pradesh Police has registered a case and started investigation. At present, forensic investigation of evidence found from the spot is being conducted. CCTV footage of nearby areas is also being investigated. Also, State Bank employees and other suspects are being questioned. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of heavy resentment and fear among the local people and bank customers. People want to know that if such negligence is possible at a place considered safe like a bank, then how safe are their money and jewelery?
