Samsung India, the country’s leading consumer electronics brand, has announced that its newly launched Galaxy Z Fold7 smartphone is witnessing overwhelming demand, leading to stockouts in several markets across India. In response, the company is ramping up production at its Noida factory to replenish supply.

The seventh-generation foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, garnered a record 210,000 pre-orders within just 48 hours of launch in India. This surge in demand underscores the accelerating mainstream adoption of foldable smartphones in the country. “We would like to thank India’s tech-savvy consumers for giving the Galaxy Z Fold7 a blockbuster start. We are aware that many markets in the country are facing a shortfall due to huge demand. We are working overtime to ensure adequate supplies of our most advanced smartphone, to enable customers to enjoy the Galaxy Z Fold7 at the earliest,” said Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, MX Business, Samsung India.

Retailers across the country have echoed Samsung’s observation.
Nilesh Gupta, Director at Vijay Sales, said, “We have witnessed extraordinary demand, with most of our top outlets in key cities already running out of stock. It is clear that customers are thrilled with the innovation and premium experience the device offers.”

Sandeep Singh Jolly, COO at Electronics Mart India Ltd (Bajaj Electronics), confirmed strong performance across their retail network, stating that many flagship stores in key urban areas are experiencing stock depletion.

Similarly, Uvaraj Natarajan, Founder and CEO of Poorvika Mobiles, added: “Galaxy Z Fold7 has been a great success with a fabulous response across regions. Stocks are getting liquidated as soon as they are getting delivered to our stores.”

Flagship features powering demand

Weighing just 215 grams and measuring only 4.2 mm when unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is the thinnest and lightest Fold device yet. Available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Mint, and Jet Black, the device boasts standout design and performance upgrades.

Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the Fold7 delivers performance boosts of 41% in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU compared to its predecessor. Camera innovation also takes a leap with a 200MP wide-angle lens, offering 44% brighter images and 4x more detail.

On the software front, One UI 8 introduces Gemini Live AI assistant with real-time screen sharing, enhanced privacy features via Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), and smarter large-screen multitasking.

Durability is also significantly improved. The new Armor FlexHinge features a multi-rail structure and water droplet design to minimize visible creasing. The cover display uses Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2, while Titanium plates and Ultra-Thin Glass (50% thicker) add further resilience.
