Amazon has launched the third-generation Echo Show 5 smart display in India, featuring a 5.5-inch screen, improved audio with 2X bass, and a built-in camera for home monitoring. It offers enhanced smart home control, entertainment, and voice assistant features via Alexa.

Hyderabad: Amazon has launched the third-generation Echo Show 5 smart display in India, introducing enhanced features such as improved sound quality, a sleeker 5.5-inch display, and a built-in camera designed for home monitoring.

The latest Echo Show 5, powered by Alexa, is designed to simplify everyday tasks while offering entertainment and smart home control. Priced at a discounted Rs 10,999, the device is available in Charcoal and Cloud Blue colours on Amazon.in, Flipkart, and offline retail outlets including Reliance Digital and Croma.

“We’re excited to launch the new Echo Show 5, designed to make everyday moments more helpful with Alexa,” said Dilip R.S., Director and Country Manager, Amazon Devices India.

Smarter display, sleeker design
The third-gen Echo Show 5 comes with an upgraded compact form factor, rounded edges, and an infinity cover glass over the 5.5-inch screen. The improved UI offers a better viewing experience, even at night, allowing users to check the weather, control smart devices, or monitor security camera feeds.

Upgraded sound and entertainment
Equipped with a 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker, the Echo Show 5 now offers twice the bass and clearer vocals compared to its predecessor. It supports Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and Audible (subscriptions may apply). With multi-room music functionality, users can group Echo devices across rooms for an immersive audio experience.

Home monitoring made easy
Thanks to the built-in camera, users can monitor their homes remotely via the ‘Drop In’ feature, pair video doorbells and security cameras, and even make video calls to other Alexa-enabled devices or contacts using the Alexa app.

Alexa for everyday tasks
Users can ask Alexa to show their calendar, set reminders, manage to-do lists, or create shopping lists with voice commands. Controlling compatible smart home appliances such as lights, ACs, or geysers is just a voice prompt away.

Focus on privacy
The new Echo Show 5 includes multiple privacy features such as a built-in camera shutter, microphone on/off button, and options to view and delete voice recordings via the Alexa app. It runs on Amazon’s faster AZ2 Neural Edge processor and features an upgraded microphone array for more accurate voice detection.
