Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu leader K.K. Annamalai has strongly attacked Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He praised Shashi Tharoor’s opinion, comparing the reactions of Congress leaders regarding the trade agreement between the US and India, while Rahul Gandhi’s remarks described the remarks of ‘foreign masters’.
Annamalai compared the statements of Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor on the social media platform X (East Twitter) that one leader spoke in India’s interest, while the other spoke the language of the forces that want to harm the image of India. He made this comment at a time when US President Donald Trump has termed India’s economy as a ‘dead economy’, on which Rahul Gandhi agreed.
Annamalai’s sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi
BJP leader Annamalai wrote in his post- When the whole world is considering India as a ray of light, then there is a leader of the opposition who is still in darkness. Targeting Rahul Gandhi, he said that he remains blind even after seeing the development of India and is deliberately repeating the foreign powers that are troubled by the emerging power of India. Annamalai further wrote- One spoke in the interest of India, and the other in the language to please foreign bosses. This difference is a sign of his political thinking and patriotism.
Rahul Gandhi said- Trump said ‘truth’
Rahul Gandhi reacted to US President Donald Trump’s remarks in which he described India as a ‘dead economy’. Rahul said that Trump is right. Everyone knows this except Prime Minister and Finance Minister K.K. The Indian economy is dead. He further said that I am happy that the US President told the truth. The BJP has abolished the economy to benefit Adani.
Shashi Tharoor’s balanced response
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor gave a balanced response, calling the Indo-US trade talks ‘challenging’. He said that we should diversify our markets even outside America. We have no shortage of options. He further said that if America’s demands are ‘unrealistic’, then India should consider other options. He also said that India’s strength is that we are not a completely export-based economy like China. We have a strong domestic market and our negotiators should get support with full force so that they can make the best compromise for India.
