In Bihar, schools will remain closed on Rakshabandhan (9 August), Independence Day (15 August), and Sundays (3, 10, 17, 24, 31 August). Apart from this, there may be a holiday in some districts on Janmashtami (16 August). That is, students of Bihar can get about 7 days of holidays.
How many days will schools remain closed in UP
In Uttar Pradesh, schools will remain closed on Rakshabandhan (9 August), Independence Day (15 August), Janmashtami (16 August) and all Sundays (3, 10, 17, 24, 31 August). Overall, 8 days of holidays are being considered. Some schools may also give holidays on Onam or Ganesh Chaturthi based on local decision.
Holidays will start from 3 August
August is starting from Sunday, which will be the first holiday of the week. Then there is Rakshabandhan on 9 August, which is celebrated with great pomp especially in North India. The very next day, 10th August, will again be a Sunday.
Trio of holidays from 15th to 17th August
Independence Day will be celebrated across the country on 15th August, while Janmashtami festival is on 16th August, which is celebrated especially in Central India and Western India. Then another Sunday on 17th August will give rest to the students.
Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi festival
Onam festival will be celebrated with great pomp in Kerala from 26th to 28th August. Ganesh Chaturthi is on 27th August, which is celebrated on a large scale in Maharashtra, Goa and Telangana. School holidays are fixed in these areas.
