After the government said on Telegram that “rescuers retrieved 10 bodies from the rubble of the residential building in Sviatoshynsky district, including the body of a 2-year-old child,” the toll—which had previously been 16 and included two children—was changed on Friday.

Additionally, it said that 16 children were among the 159 persons injured in Thursday’s attacks.

The military government of Zaporizhzhia, in southeast Ukraine, said on Telegram that a Russian strike early Friday had also killed one person.

Following Thursday’s bombing, which was one of the bloodiest the city has experienced since Russia began its massive attack in February 2022, Kyiv was honoring a day of sorrow.

Hours after the bombing, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on his supporters Thursday to implement “regime change” in Russia.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump denounced Russia’s activities in Ukraine and hinted at the impending imposition of further sanctions on Moscow.

“I find what Russia is doing to be abhorrent. It’s awful, in my opinion,” Trump told reporters.

The US leader threatened penalties on Monday unless Moscow stopped the invasion, which is already in its fourth year, within “10 or 12” days.
