
Cut in the Price of LPG Cylinder August 1: The government has provided LPG relief to the public just ahead of Rakshabandhan. Oil marketing companies have decreased the rate of commercial LPG gas cylinders by ₹33.50 throughout the country. The new prices of LPG cylinder have come into effect on 1 August 2025. Commercial LPG cylinders are 19 kg. However, the prices of domestic 14 kg LPG cylinders still remain unchanged. As it was announced at 31 July, the government will make changes on the prices from the night of 31 July but new prices will be effective from today, Friday, August 1, 2025.
Now commercial cylinders will be available at this rate
As per the revised rates effective from August 1, 2025, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 1,631.50. It was earlier Rs 1,665. In July 2025, this cylinder was priced at Rs 1,769 in Kolkata and Rs 1,616.50 in Mumbai. It seems that the price has been reduced by Rs 33.50. The reduction in the price of commercial cylinders will be beneficial for businesspersons associated with catering units, hotels, restaurants, and the food industry, and these people use commercial LPG cylinders.

Kolkata: Rs 1734.50 (earlier Rs 1,769)
Mumbai: Rs 1582.50 (earlier Rs 1,616)
Chennai: Rs 1789 (earlier Rs 1,823.50)
Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs. 33.50 nationwide.
No adjustment in the price of domestic cylinders
No adjustment has been made to the domestic gas cylinders price. The price of the domestic LPG 14.3 kg cylinders has been unchanged since April 8 2025. The government has not made any change in this. There have been no price increases or decreases in the last four months. It will also impact the lower and middle classes if the prices of LPG cylinders are not increased. The price of domestic cylinder in Delhi continues to be Rs 853.

Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries get subsidy
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has provided subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder to around 10 crore families. This subsidy is provided and the amount is deposited into the beneficiaries bank account directly.
