
Desk: The new coach of the Indian football team has been announced. The head coach of Jameshpur FC has been made the new coach of the team. This has been announced by All India Football Federation. The Executive Committee of AIFF has approved the appointment of Khalid Jamil as the new head coach of the Indian football team in the presence of the technical committee headed by former captain IM Vijayan. After 13 years, the Indian team has got an Indian coach. Earlier in the year 2011-12, Savio Mediira became the head coach of the team.

Khalid Jamil will replace Manolo Markage in Spain, who resigned from his post last month. In his time, the Indian team could not win any match in the last one year. The Technical Committee of AIFF on July 22 prepared a list of three people for the coach after consulting Subrata Pal, director of the national team. It included the names of former national coach Stephen Constantine, Slovakian manager Stephen Tarkovic and Khalid Jamil. On Friday, August 1, it was announced to make Khalid Jamil a new coach of the Indian team.
