Bhopal: Scientists at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Have Discoveered A New Way to Create Bio-Deele from Banana Peels and Plastic Waste.

The Research was LED by Dr Shankar Chakma From the Department of Chemical Engineering. This is an important and eco-friendly discovery that can benefit society in many ways. The method used is called “co-pyrolysis.”

In this process, The Researchers Heated A Mixture of 25% Banana Peels and 75% Plastic waste at a certain temperature. This created a liquid fuel knows as pyro-oil. This fuel can be used as an alternative to regular diesel. It can be mixed with normal diesel up to 20% and used directly in vehicles. This mixture Helps Reduce Fuel Consumption and Improves Engine Efficiency, Known as Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE).

In addition to the liquid fuel, this process also produces gas and charcoal. Approximately 850 Grams of Liquid Fuel, Along with 140 Grams of Gas and 10 Grams of Charcoal, Are Obtained From Every Kilogram of the Mixture.

The gas can be used for cooking, and the charcoal can help clean water. This means almost all the waste is used in the process. The pyro-oil has a high heat capacity of about 55 megajoules per kilogram. It has a pour point of -25 ° C, Making it suitable for cold weather. Its flash point is 4 ° c higher than regular diesel, which makes it safer to handle.

The findings from this research have been published in two well-known international journey, the journey of the energy institute and energy Nexus.

This technology supports the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Mission and Can Help Manage Plastic and Organic waste more effectively. Dr Chakma Says This Innovation Could Be a Major Step forward in Sustainable Fuel Options. It can help Reduce Pollution and also help deal with the waste problem.

The biggest advantage of this research is that it is an important achievement in the direction of getting the energy from waste. This technology will not only reduce the increase plastic waste in the environment but also promote circular economy by reasting it productively. Also, it can prove to be used in the swachh bharat mission.

We have prepared alternative diesel by mixing banana peels and plastic waste, which is cheaper than diesel and performs better. It is an environment friendly and commercially viable technology.
