Delhi Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said that MCD has extended the 10 percent discount time on property tax payable for the current financial year 2025-26 till August 31, 2025. According to the corporation, this decision is a positive step towards the convenience of taxpayers, comprehension of tax base and increasing revenue assembled.
The mayor said that a large number of taxpayers are coming forward and the corporation is receiving encouraging response to tax payment. Keeping this active participation in mind, the first discount period was extended till 31 July.
10 percent discount popular among taxpayers
Now, given the positive attitude of taxpayers and the success of the Sunio Scheme 2025-26, this discount period has been extended to one month to 31 August 2025. Chairman of the Standing Committee, Satya Sharma said that the Sunio scheme and 10 percent discount are becoming popular among taxpayers and is encouraging revenue collection.
Committee to deposit property tax by 31 August
Now, in view of the encouraging participation of taxpayers and the success of the Sunio Scheme 2025-26, this period has been extended to 31 August 2025 for a month. Satya Sharma has appealed to all citizens to take advantage of 10 percent discount by depositing their property tax by 31 August 2025 and become partners in the development of the capital with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
