The 8th Pay Commission can bring great news for government employees. Salary hike of up to 47,000 is possible on level-4 posts like Junior Clerk.

Some good news can come soon for those doing government jobs. Especially for those employees who are serving in level-4 posts, such as Junior Clerk. Recently, reports are indicating that after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, a big jump can be seen in the salary of these employees.

What is the salary now?

Currently, the basic salary of a junior clerk is 25,500 per month. Along with this, they are also given dearness allowance (DA), travel allowance (TA), house rent allowance (HRA) and other facilities. Adding all these, the in-hand salary of a junior clerk is around 35,000 to 40,000. But if the new pay commission is implemented, then this amount can increase to a great extent.

How will the new salary be decided?

The main basis of government salary hike is the fitment factor. In the 7th Pay Commission, it was 2.57, due to which the minimum salary increased from 7,000 to 18,000. Now three possible fitment factors have emerged for the 8th Pay Commission - 1.92, 2.08 and 2.86. If the government approves the highest factor of 2.86, then the minimum salary can increase from 18,000 to 51,480 directly. All Group-C employees, including junior clerks, will get its direct benefit.

What will be the benefit to the junior clerk?

If the same fitment factor is applied to junior clerks, then their new basic salary can reach 72,930 per month. That is, a direct increase of about 47,000. Apart from this, when the basic salary increases, allowances like DA, HRA and TA will also increase. That means the in-hand salary will also become quite good.
