New Delhi: In the midst of global economic turmoil brought on by Donald Trump’s tariff rise announcements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated Friday the Indian economy’s resilience and said that the nation is on course to become the third-largest economy in the world. The prime minister made a compelling case for “swadeshi” goods, claiming that they are the way of the future, while simultaneously emphasizing that India must continue to be watchful of its economic interests.

Days before PM Modi’s comments, US President Donald Trump had called India a “dead economy” in reference to the nation’s relations with Russia.
The Prime Minister said the administration is doing all it can to protect the nation’s interests, specifically mentioning the “atmosphere of global instability.”
“A climate of worldwide instability prevails. Every nation is concentrating on its own interests. At a rally in Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi said, “India will have to remain vigilant in terms of its economic interests because it is going to become the third largest economy in the world.”
“In the best interest of the nation, our government is doing everything it can,” he said. Regardless of their political affiliation, those who want to see India become the world’s third-largest economy should put aside their differences and work on a solution for “swadeshi” items.
“We will only purchase items manufactured by Indians.” “We must speak up for local issues,” the prime minister said.
Trump attacked New Delhi’s relations with Moscow on July 31, one day after enacting broad trade sanctions and a 25% tax on almost all Indian imports. He called both countries “dead economies” and said outright that he “does not care” what India does with Russia.
“What India does with Russia doesn’t concern me. “I don’t care if they take down their dead economies together,” he said on social media.
Pakistan is warned by the PM
Prime Minister Modi attacked Pakistan harshly at the Varanasi rally, warning terrorist groups that they would not escape punishment even if they took sanctuary in Paatal Lok.
“Mahadev wears his ‘Rudra roop’ when injustice and horror are present. Operation Sindoor exposed this side of India to the world. ‘Pataal Lok ‘would not spare anybody who tampers with India,” he said.
ATTACKS THE OPPOSITION
The Congress and its supporters, according to PM Modi, are unable to comprehend that India eliminated terrorist hideouts in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.
“Everyone is aware of Pakistan’s distress. However, the suffering that Pakistan is going through is too much for the Congress and the Samajwadi Party to bear. Pakistan is in tears, and the Congress and SP are also in tears at the state of the terrorists. The Prime Minister said, “Congress has called Operation Sindoor a ‘tamasha’ and is continuously disparaging the bravery of our forces.”
He said, “The Samajwadi Party is no less in this politics of appeasement and vote-banking. Their superiors were wondering why the terrorists from Pahalgam had been slain on this specific day. Before I do anything, should I give them a call and ask them? Any sensible person ought to be able to respond. Should we hold off on killing terrorists?” Should we have allowed them to escape?”
Additionally, the Prime Minister said that the Congress had given terrorists a free pass while it was in office.
