Mumbai-Style Masala Pav Recipe

More flavorful than Pav Bhaji—spicy, buttery, and irresistibly street-style!

Ingredients:

– 4 pav (soft bread rolls)

– 2 tbsp butter

– 1 tomato (grated)

– 1 small onion (finely chopped)

– 1 capsicum (finely chopped)

– 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

– 1 tsp pav bhaji masala

– ½ tsp red chili powder

– Salt to taste

– 1 tbsp fresh coriander (chopped)

– Lemon wedges & chopped onion (for serving)

Method:

1. Heat a non-stick pan on medium flame. Add 1 tbsp butter.

2. Sauté ginger-garlic paste until aromatic.

3. Add chopped onion and cook until golden.

4. Mix in capsicum and grated tomato. Cook until soft.

5. Add pav bhaji masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the mixture is fragrant and well-blended.

6. Push the masala to one side of the pan. Add remaining butter.

7. Slice pav horizontally (don’t separate completely). Toast both sides in the butter and masala until crisp.

8. Fill each pav with the spicy mixture. Garnish with coriander.

9. Serve hot with lemon wedges and chopped onion.
