Salman Ali Agha’s Pakistan cricket team bounced back from the humiliation of a loss to Bangladesh to post their seventh successive T20I series win over West Indies. Pakistan defeated the West Indies by 13 runs in the third and final T20I match in Florida on Monday. Pakistan clinched the T20I series 2-1 after winning the first and third matches in the series. The visitors bounced back from hard-fought two-wicket loss in the last match on Sundary to turn the tables of Shai Hope’s side. The architects of Pakistan’s series-clinching win were young openers Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan who put on a 138-run partnership for the opening wicket. Pakistan seem to have found an ideal replacement for veterans Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in T20I cricket at the top of the order.   HARIS RAUF AURA FARMING 😭😭 pic.twitter.com/FYRyDkGX0z — PCT Replays 2.0 (@ReplaysPCT) August 4 2025 Thanks to their opening partnership Pakistan posted 189 for 4 and then bowled tightly enough to restrict West Indies to 176 for 6. Pakistan’s opening partnership ended when Farhan was dismissed for 74 runs in the 17th over. His 53-ball innings coming to an end when he hit a low full-toss from pacer Shamar Joseph (1/57) straight to Shai Hope at long-off. Ayub continued until the last ball of the penultimate over of Pakistan’s innings when he hit a full ball from Jason Holder (1/34) to Sherfane Rutherford in the covers and was out for 66 from 49 deliveries. “Happy to contribute with runs and towards the win. Conditions were similar to last night but I planned with Saim (Ayub) to play with positive intent and not spare any loose deliveries. I’m really enjoying batting alongside Saim. We complement each other well and he guides me too. The entire focus now is on the tri-nation series and then the Asia Cup” Farhan said after the match. Pakistan bounced back after Windies flying start West Indies had raced to 33-0 after two overs in reply taking 16 off the first over from Hasan Ali and 17 in the second from Mohammad Nawaz. Pacer Haris Rauf slowed the run-rate in the third over which only went for five runs and then grabbed the first West Indies wicket when he had Jewel Andrew (24 from 15 deliveries) caught by Hasan Ali in the fifth over with the total at 44. Alick Athanaze scored 60 from 40 deliveries sharing further partnerships of 30 with Hope (7) and 36 with Rutherford until he mis-timed a fuller faster delivery from Ayub and was caught at short thirdman. At that point West Indies slipped to 110-3 in the 13th over. “I’m always smiling. It was a team performance. There’s always going to be areas to improve and as a team we just want to keep improving and moving forward. For me win or lose – obviously winning is very very important – but as long as we focus on the process we’ll win more often” Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said after the third T20I match. “It was a different pitch today slightly better. Making 190 was a massive boost for us. The way the spinners bowled was outstanding. Sufiyan brought us back Haris bowled well Faheem and Hasan showed great character in the last over; it was amazing to see that. Sufiyan and Abrar are very very big assets for us. Whatever series we’re playing it’s important to us. We just want to keep improving and follow our process and if we do that we have enough talent to win games” Agha added. Rutherford kept West Indies in the contest with 51 from 35 balls but his dismissal in the last over ended any chance of a comeback win. The series was tied 1-1 going into the decider after Jason Holder took four wickets and then smashed a boundary off the final ball of the second game to lift West Indies to a thrilling two-wicket victory on Saturday.
