
Actor Song Young Kyu was found dead inside a parked vehicle in Gyeonggi Province, just two months after being arrested for driving under the influence.

According to The Korea Heraldpolice discovered Song’s body in Yongin on Monday morning and reported no signs of foul play. An investigation is ongoing, with plans to question family members to better understand the circumstances surrounding his death. He is survived by his wife and two children, the Daily Mail reported.
In June, Song was arrested for drunk driving after recording a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08%—exceeding the legal threshold for license revocation in South Korea. Authorities said he had driven approximately five kilometers before being stopped. The case had been forwarded to prosecutors and was awaiting indictment.
Following news of the arrest, Song was removed from two upcoming television dramas—”The Defects” and “The Winning Try”—as well as the stage production “Shakespeare in Love.”
Born in 1970, Song began his acting career with the 2004 film “Mr. Hong” and went on to appear in more than 40 television dramas and numerous films. He earned widespread recognition for his performances in “Reply 1988,” “Extreme Job,” and “The Penthouse 3.”
