The speculation of potential cooperation between global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas and acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has increased the enthusiasm among fans, which has further increased by Chopra’s recent social media posts. On August 5, 2025, he shared a throbac video of Bhansali’s 2013 film Goliyon’s Rasleela Ram-Leela’s prestigious song “Ram Chah Leela”, in which he praised Bhansali’s creative vision and contribution of cinematographer Ravi Varman and choreographer Vishnu Deva. Recalling the daily lunch-break rehearsal with Deva, this soulful note of Chopra forced fans to speculate about the possible reunion with Bhansali.
However, the internal sources in the industry have rejected these rumors and clarified that no cooperation is underway. A source confirmed, “Priyanka’s post was a pleasant memory, not a sign of a new project. Although he and Bhansali share mutual respect, but there is no truth to work with her in the present.” His previous cooperation in Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Ram-Leela is distinguished, but fans expecting another excellent work will have to wait.
Chopra, who last appeared in Bollywood in The Sky is Pink (2019), is currently focused on its brilliant comeback in Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s SSMB 29. The shooting of this action-adventure film, co-star of Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, began in Mumbai in August 2025. Promoted as a global spectacle with a budget of Rs 1000 crore, the project is his first Indian film in six years although there is no possibility of his reunion with Bhansali, but his role in SSMB 29 promises to confirm his position as a desi icon.
