BHU Admission 2025: Now, the mop-up round process will be run to fill about 1200 vacant seats in postgraduate (PG) courses in Banaras Hindu University (BHU). There are a total of 10,071 seats in PG courses, out of which about six and a half thousand seats have been filled in four phases. Of these, about 3000 seats come under super numerical quota (like BHU quota, international students, other reserved quotas).
PG classes from August 11, mop-up registration from August 11-16
Call letters for students seeking admission to PG have been released on the BHU student portal. Students who have locked seats will have to go to the respective departments on August 7 and 8 for document verification. Registrations for the mop-up round will be from August 11 to August 16, followed by the first and second seat allocation on August 18 and August 22 respectively. The university has announced that PG classes will start from August 11.
Admission process begins for 9200 seats in UG courses
The admission process for UG courses is also progressing rapidly. After more than 1 lakh registrations, the applications of students are now being classified. Cutoffs will be released by the evening of August 7 and seat allocation will start from August 8. This process will be applicable to about 9200 seats in UG, which is targeted to be completed by the end of August.
Application dates extended in open universities too
IGNOU and Rajarshi Tandon Open University have also extended the last date of application for the convenience of students.
IGNOU: Now you can apply till 15 August
Rajarshi Tandon Open University: Date extended till 20 August
Rajarshi Tandon University has also started two new courses like M.Sc. Mathematics and M.Sc. Environmental Science this time. All admissions are being taken in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
