
The second season of the iconic Indian television drama ‘Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi’ has officially been released, with the show premiering in the last week of July.
According to the entertainment site Bollywood Lifethe sixth episode aired on August 3, and the initial episodes have received a positive response from audiences.
Former actress and now politician Smriti Irani has made her much-anticipated return to television through the revival of the show. Her on-screen husband is once again portrayed by actor Amar Upadhyay, who also played the role in the original season.
In a nostalgic twist, the characters in the new season are seen discussing and even wearing outfits from 30 years ago, giving viewers a strong emotional connection to the original series.
The first season of Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi originally aired from 2000 to 2008 and is considered one of the most successful Indian TV dramas of all time. It ran for eight consecutive years and played a significant role in launching the careers of several actors, including Smriti Irani, who later transitioned into politics.
Now, she’s returned to the small screen with the second season.
The new season is once again produced by Ekta Kapoor and is airing on Star Plusas well as streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
Many original cast members have reprised their roles, while new characters have also been introduced to refresh the storyline for today’s audience.
